Haunted Opossum Focuses On Your Accessibility

Haunted Opossum is made up of two creators – Elai and Callen – who are intimately familiar with the effects of disability and chronic illness on daily life, and we want you to feel like anything you commission from us is going to feel right on you.

We understand that every person has unique needs, and we take every question and request seriously. There is no standard menu of options, and we avoid up-charges for accessibility features whenever possible. The vast majority of accessibility features do not take enough extra time or material to go beyond the margin already built into custom work, so up-charges are only necessary when your request impacts the material cost significantly. With that said, below are some of the accessibility features you will find with our fursuit offerings at no extra charge:

• Soft, lined, foam head bases designed and carved out to accommodate most glasses.
• Front or near-front zippers on body suits for ease of putting the suit on.
• Wide-splitting zipper between the legs for emergencies. Large enough to sit on a toilet without the suit touching the seat.
• All parts are lined with moisture wicking materials to aid in keeping cool
• Optional access zippers anywhere on the fursuit to allow for injections (insulin, epipen, etc), access to ports, and medical devices.
• Sturdy handles and attachment to stability belts.
• Padding removable from the outside for dynamic mobility issues.

Additionally, we can offer plenty of extra accessibility features and accommodations that require a significant extra investment of time or money. We work with a wide variety of materials and techniques, so don’t be afraid to ask if we can do anything!
