A Head Base is the starting point of a Fursuit head.

Three common styles exist for creating a base:

1. Carved Foam: These are made by carving pieces of foam with scissors, foam cutters, and other tools into shape and gluing them together to create the form of the head.
2. 3D Printed: These bases are made with a 3D printer and are often licensed from other creators. These also tend to have a lot of airflow and can be very cost effective.
3. Molded Foam: This technique uses a two part foaming rubber in a fiberglass mold to create the base for the fursuit head. These are fairly inexpensive to reproduce, but have a significant initial cost to make the mold.
